Driver Killed in Crash at White House Gate

(RepublicanView.org) – A speeding driver has died after crashing his car into the White House gates. The incident happened at around 10:30 pm on Saturday, May 4, and officials rushed to the man’s aid but found he was already dead. Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi confirmed in an announcement on X there had been no threat to the White House or its staff.

A statement from the Secret Service said the vehicle was traveling at high speed when it smashed into outer perimeter fencing. It advised that investigators at the Washington Metropolitan Police Department Crash Investigation Unit would lead inquiries but did not provide details about the identity of the man who died in the crash.

It is the second time this year that a vehicle has crashed into the White House perimeter. Back in January 2024, Guglielmi stated that authorities had detained a man after he smashed his car into external fencing. He did not clarify at the time if any charges would be brought, adding that the driver had undergone a mental health evaluation.

Last year, Sai Varshith Kandula rammed a U-haul truck into barriers surrounding the White House, and investigations revealed that he had a Nazi flag in his vehicle at the time. His motivations were reportedly more dangerous.

Details emerged identifying Kandula as an Indian national who had shouted that he intended to kill the President and seize power. Prosecutors subsequently charged him with threatening to kill or inflict harm on the President, as well as reckless operation of a vehicle and assault with a dangerous weapon.

The Missouri resident had allegedly composed a speech in which he would declare his takeover of the United States and his intention to extend this worldwide. Kandula furthermore warned that any resistance to his authority would be met with the death penalty.
