Barron Trump Rejects Invitation To Serve as RNC Delegate

(RepublicanView.org) – Barron Trump, former president Donald Trump’s youngest child, was listed among the Florida Republican delegates for the Republican National Convention last week. However, the office of former First Lady Melania Trump confirmed on Friday, May 10 that the 18-year-old would not be participating.

The younger Trump, who has shied away from politics, was selected by officials with Florida’s Republican Party to serve as an at-large delegate for the RNC in Milwaukee. The event is scheduled to take place in July.

News outlets initially exploded with the news due to the fact that Barron Trump has largely remained out of the public eye. Initially, the reveal appeared to signal a sudden change for Barron Trump, who has typically avoided public appearances to focus on school. He was recently forced into the public spotlight over reports that his father’s court hearings may force him to miss Barron’s graduation. He is currently taking classes at a private school in southern Florida, not far from his father’s Mar-a-Lago estate.

After the news broke of his status as a delegate, Melania Trump’s office released a statement revealing that Barron was “honored” that he was chosen. However, the statement continued that he “regretfully declines” as a result of “prior commitments.”

Barron is the only child between Trump and his current wife, Melania. His older brothers Eric and Donald Trump Jr, as well as his sister, Tiffany, will be serving as delegates for Florida. Eric Trump will serve as the delegation’s chair, allowing him to submit his father for the party’s nomination. His father has been the presumptive nominee since winning Washington, Georgia, and Mississippi on March 12.

Barron Trump’s life hasn’t been entirely protected from the public eye. He was reportedly stalked in June 2023 by a woman who was threatening to assassinate his father. The woman, 41-year-old Tracy Marie Fiorenza, was arrested by Chicago police two months later. Prosecutors said she traveled to Barron’s school but was stopped by a sheriff. She was held without bond. She had also called the school several times.
