Man Charged After Alleged Threats Against FBI Agent

(RepublicanView.org) – The Justice Department has charged a Texas man with threatening an FBI agent. Timothy Muller, of Fort Worth, allegedly phoned the agent and left a voicemail stating that his family’s “horrified shrieks” would be the last thing he heard. Muller furthermore allegedly stated that Donald Trump will return to the White House and the Special Agent will go to prison, or worse.

The 43-year-old suspect was arrested and has been charged with making interstate threats and influencing, impeding, or retaliating against a federal official and faces a potential ten-year jail sentence.

While the Special Agent was not named in Justice Department documents, reports indicate that he is a member of Special Council David Weiss’ team, which led investigations into Hunter Biden’s conduct, including the illegal weapons possession case recently tried in Delaware. A jury convicted the President’s son on three counts, and he awaits sentencing.

US Attorney General Merrick Garland indicated in a recent op-ed that there is a growing trend of harassment against law enforcement officers, particularly in the FBI and Department of Justice. Mr. Garland said people are under threat “for simply doing their jobs.”

Judges are also increasingly harassed, and in 2023, 457 received threatening communications, as did 155 federal prosecutors, according to the US Marshals Service. In Texas last November, for example, a woman allegedly threatened a judge during a phone call to his chambers in Amarillo, saying she would kill him.

The 2023 figures were higher than the previous year, when 300 federal judges and 93 prosecutors were targeted.

In response to the murder of US District Judge Esther Salas’ son in New Jersey, Congress passed the Daniel Anderl Judicial Security and Privacy Act in 2022. The legislation made tracking down judges’ personal information online more difficult. Judge Salas said that she and other judges should not live in fear of doing their jobs and praised lawmakers for passing the legislation, which she said helped safeguard judicial independence and the integrity of American democracy. Her son’s killer arrived at their home disguised as a delivery worker.
