Circumstances of the Accident

The 2018 Volvo bus was moving west on Interstate 20 near Bovina when it veered off the roadway and overturned. Authorities believe that a left front tire failure caused the bus to steer onto an embankment before overturning on its left side.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and the cause of the bus veering off the highway is still undetermined. Authorities involved in the probe include the NTSB, Mississippi Highway Patrol, and the Commercial Transportation Enforcement Division.
