Actor Mike Heslin Has Died at 30

(RepublicanView.org) – Actor Mike Heslin has died at age 30. His husband, Scotty Dynamo, announced the death on social media, saying Heslin had suffered a “sudden cardiac event.” Writing on Instagram, Dynamo said the actor was in good health and doctors “have no explanation” for his premature death. In a warm tribute, Dynamo – whose real name is Nicolas James Wilson – said Heslin was a selfless and talented “guardian angel” to whom friends frequently turned for support and a shoulder to cry on.

Dynamo further indicated that Heslin’s agreement to donate his organs had helped four families. “I know that you are in a better place and that heaven has gained another angel,” he wrote. A GoFundMe page was established to help with medical costs and raised almost $60,000 within days.

Best known for his appearance in “Special Ops: Lioness,” Heslin began his acting career in 2014 on the Showtime series “7 Deadly Sins.” He has also appeared in two episodes of the acclaimed drama “Yellowstone,” starring Kevin Costner. Other credits include the movie “The Holiday Proposal” and the TV show “Younger.”

Born in San Bernardino, California, in 1988, Heslin also tried his hand at writing and co-wrote the comedy “The Influencers.” He founded the production company Well-Versed Entertainment, which focused on “elevating new voices into the mainstream via inclusive, aspirational storylines.”

Heslin’s cause of death has not yet been confirmed. Still, medical experts say that sudden cardiac-related deaths, particularly in young people, can relate to undiagnosed genetic heart problems. In these instances, death usually occurs during sports or physical exertion, but can happen at any time or place.

The most common cause of sudden cardiac death is thought to be undiagnosed hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which is a genetic condition that causes the heart muscle to thicken and makes pumping blood a struggle. Long QT syndrome is also a possible cause of sudden death in some people and is characterized by chaotic heartbeats and fainting. This can be genetic or acquired through a separate but related health condition.
