(RepublicanView.org) – New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu is backing Nikki Haley for President of the United States. Sununu, who has long urged the Republican Party to move on from Donald Trump, said he was waiting for the best contender to emerge before offering his endorsement, and at an event in Manchester, he opted for the former South Carolina Governor. “We’re all in for Nikki Haley,” he said.
Haley has enjoyed a polling rise in recent weeks and, in some states, has overtaken Floridian Governor Ron DeSantis in the race for second place behind frontrunner Donald Trump. Haley hopes to gain ground in early-voting states to propel her forward, and her New Hampshire endorsement will likely provide a significant boost.
Prominent donors also support Haley, including some who traditionally put their weight behind Democrats. Billionaire Reid Hoffman, founder of the social media site LinkedIn, recently donated $250,000 to the Haley campaign despite his previous support for President Joe Biden.
Jamie Dimon, head of JPMorgan Chase and a traditional Democrat backer, offered his support to the candidate in December and urged other Democrats to do the same. “Even if you’re a very liberal Democrat, I urge you, help Nikki Haley, too,” Dimon said.
In the fourth GOP primary debate, however, fellow candidates used Haley’s recent endorsements to cast doubt on her conservative credentials.
Recent polls show a surge by the former UN Ambassador Haley, and in her home state of South Carolina, she enjoys a significant lead over Ron DeSantis, according to FiveThirtyEight. Similarly, Haley is ahead of DeSantis in New Hampshire, with one poll putting her a whopping 18 points ahead.
Donald Trump, however, continues to dominate GOP polls and has a double-digit in every survey. In Wisconsin, Trump leads at 54%, trailed by DeSantis with 16% and Haley with 15%.
